Cutting Up

The title Cutting Up is borrowed from Valeri Solana's manifesto Cutting Up Men. The starting point for the works was that in a future when men are tired of constantly wearing a uniform, even civilian, there will be a lot of unused garments in the finest woolen fabric that we can make something else out of.

Cutting Up 6 kritstreck

Maria Lilja, Cutting Up 6 kritstreck, 2019, 200 x 215 cm. Sold to Västerås City to be placed in a high school of economics.

In 2019, a number of Cutting Up works wore exhibited at Konstnärshuset in Stockholm, one of which was sold to the State Council for the Arts and one to the city of Västerås. 2020 during lockdown in Berlin and made the series Home Office which were exhibited in Nääs Konsthantverk outside Gothenburg 2021.
